Dalé - Ethiopia
Tasting Notes: Lemon Candy, Honeysuckle, Oolong Tea
Dale washing station is located in Wensho Woreda of the greater Sidamo region. The harvest period is between December and January with the flowering season starting in January. Dale washing station serves over 750 individual producers in this region. Parchment coffee is dried on African raised beds for up to 15 days. Throughout the drying period, parchment coffee is raked daily and covered with cloth during the hot afternoon.
The cherries are pulped with Penagos processing equipment which mechanically removes most of the fruit and mucilage from the seeds. Coffee is then soaked overnight in fiberglass tanks, allowing any remaining sugars to be fully removed from their surface so that the coffees are perfectly clean by the time they hit the drying beds. Coffee is then dried for up to 8 + days. Coffee imported by Red Fox.

Sourced & Roasted With Intention
We individually profile and roast each coffee to their specific sweet-spot
Sourcing & Selection
Vesta direct sources 90% of our coffees directly from farmers and coops at origin. And uses trusted export partners for the remaining coffees.
All coffees are selected based on taste profiles. We believe that origin, processing and terroir all play a part to make each coffee unique.
Maintaining Relationships
You will notice that many of our coffees are available for multiple years. We are proud (and thankful) to be able to work with many of the same farmers year-after-year. Many times purchasing the farmers entire harvest. Helping the producer have some economic stability, and helping us with a consistent product year after year.
